Barton Creek - 4513 Travis Country Cir

Directions going South on Mopac, get onto the access road as if heading to 290/71 west, take a right onto Southwest Parkway, first right onto Republic of Texas Blvd and another first right onto Travis County Circle, and then either:

a)stay on Travis County and park across from the second left that says Canyonwood, or

b) take the first left that says Canyonwood and follow it until it dead ends on Travis County

either way meet in the dirt parking lot across on the other side from Canyonwood.

Bring water, good shoes, water, water for any dogs you bring, we will hike down to the creek and return lots of winding trails, expect a hike of 2-3 hours. Possible topics of conversation include:

- What should we do about Amazon drones?  target practice?  GPS spoofing to steal them or mis-direct them?

- The brains of men and women are wired differently (who knew:-) men are wired front to back (intrahemisphere) and women are wired side-to-side (intrahemisphere)

- Epidemiologists are modelling zombie disease spreading from movies, I guess everyone needs a hobby

- The Nonhuman Rights Project (NhRP) filed a lawsuit in New York court to declare chimpanzees are legal persons and should be freed from captivity.

Or small talk and enjoying nature is always great.  As always try to be on time, but if you are running late, please call me on my cell and we will wait any reasonable amount of time.

Kosta is closer to right for average, we have (by request) had a number of longer hikes recently. I won't usually schedule a hike somewhere unless there is at least a 2 hour hike possible there. For Turkey Creek and St. Ed's we sometime do a double loop to make it long enough. So I guess I shoot for at least 3 hours but try to gauge what the group wants. For trails that are straight out and back it is easy adjust the time/distance. Pace is set by the group, I probably have a lot of influence .. but not alone at all.

Well, snowing and sleeting tonight here. Rather not risk the 7 AM drive. Have fun, if you all still head out.
