Scottish Woods Trail Hike

To get to the trail head - go NW on 360 from the southern crossing of 350 and Mopac, basically the bottom of the bow formed by Mopac and 360.  Take a right on Scottish Woods Trail,  go to the end and park.  It dead ends on Camp Craft and the trail head is less than a hundred yards to the right on Camp Craft.

We will hike for about 3.5 hours, ending at about 11:00.  Not sure what the hike will be, if it is easy or fun to cross, we will have a hill hike on the other side otherwise probably mostly Creek side hike on the same side as the hill of life. We may hike upstream to the tree house, or down stream to twin falls or both.

Bring your recent stories of camping or maybe not so recent - being in the woods particularly as a kid, or including how poorly you planned, ate burnt stuff, got soaked, slept on rocks. Our hike will be much more fun than the memories, but not necessarily as funny.

Other topics:

- Obamacare, of course, 7 million, etc.

- Requiring rear view cameras in all new cars?

Please be on time. We will try to meet at the trailhead at 7:30 AM.

If you are running late call Dave, (512)[masked]

Bring enough water for you and dogs if you bring them. Also good shoes, snacks if you need them.

61 lbs is a lot. Mine is about 5, then 2 lbs of dehydrated food. Are you practicing for sherpa sherpa status?

It's a new pack and also I'm just gearing up for a 6 day / 5 night backpack trip in August. For now I've just thrown a bunch of water in the pack. My next step is to "pack it for real" to get a more exact weight measurement. Ideally that will be well below 50 pounds or I'll be in a world of hurt.

I like hiking in rain. Nature is different when everything is wet, a part of hiking we often avoid for some reason.

Officially I didn't attend :). Small group. Nice scenery. Light rain. Awesome hike. I'm happy I went today!

Sorry for bailing. In my case, rain + rocks = slipping and falling. Yipes.

I do not like to hike if it is raining and at 6:35AM here by Riverside it is, so, I have to cancel. Next time for sure will be nicer weather for me! Have fun!
