Fallen Leaf Lake Camping

CHECK BELOW IN THE COMMENT BOXES FOR LAST MINUTE UPDATES & INFO.

IN PREPARATION FOR THE TRIP READ THE NOTES I'VE COMPILED HERE:

For those who have never camped before and need some tips see my list below and also the link after that for a good summary of camping essentials.

This is a favorite place of mine to camp during the Memorial weekend. The place is clean with showers and civilized bathrooms. It is, as well, close to a very nice beach at Lake Tahoe and hiking in Desolation Wilderness. Join us for three nights or just two? We wll split the cost of camping and firewood evenly but it sould not be more than ~$40 and less if we have a full group. We have reserved 6 campsites (36 people max).
Please indicate which nights you are coming.

Note that I will have a major hike planned on Sunday (CART #1) and probably two short ones TBD on Saturday and Monday. You don't have to hike with us and can come just to enjoy the camping. I can come up with easy hikes upon request. For info on the campground see below:
http://www.fs.fed.us/...
For reviews see this:
http://www.yelp.com/b...

I will post the hikes as seperate events.

Please communicate among yoursleves for carpools and tent sharing if you like.

Also, I would be interested in carpooling from work on Friday late afternoon. I work in San Francisco so I can leave from there or go back down to the Penisula or meet you in the East Bay as long as there is a safe place to pick you up and/or leave my car.

Hi, I would like to come up Friday night and may come back on Sunday night. It depends on other things but I do have a tent, sleeping bag and pad. Will there be other equipment available for cooking or can I eat out?

WEATHER FORECAST: As of right now there are chances of thunderstorms throughout the weekend but, if its of any encouragement, I just came back from a two day sierra trip in Yosemite and the storms are trully scattered and if they hit your area they pass quickly. We'll help each other to make sure tents are water protected just in case. also make sure to bring warm clothes for the evening (low 40's likley.)

Hey eyeryone im driving up early friday morning to beat the traffic, and am taking my truck. It can seat six, but I will only take two or thee people se we can be confortorable. I will be taking my amazing dog, Purdy, as I have no one to watch her this weekend. She is super friendly toward people, and we would love to have you ride along with us. You can call or txt me at [masked]. I live in east bay (pleasanton) so you leave your vehicle at my house where it will be safe. Staying 3 nights.

i can leave early friday. anyone interested in carpooling from san francisco?

In order to try to fit all of our cars at the tentsites we should aim for 3 passenger/carpools if possible. So drivers offering rides and people seeking rides please don't be shy and communicate with each other for rides.

If you have a propane stove or grill you are willing to share please indicate on the RVSP or here in the comment box. I think all we need in a group this size are ~5 stoves that we can rotate and share? I have 2 so we just need at least 3 more?
