Environmental Legacy of the Bay Area with Doug McConnell

FREE presentation by TV journalist Doug McConnell will spotlight Bay Area Ridge Trail and San Francisco Bay Trail.

Doug McConnell, environmental advocate and former host of Bay Area Backroads, will lead this discussion about the Bay Area's environmental legacy and the uncertainties ahead. He will put the spotlight on the two crown jewel trails that ring the Bay. The Bay and Ridge trails have been growing on parallel tracks along shorelines and ridge lines for more than 20 years. They lead us into the heart of nature, into our past and towards our future. They're becoming what some thought would be impossible....paths that entirely circumnavigate and connect the region and its communities.

This is a FREE event but you must RSVP here:

This was an excellent event discussing how we in n. ca got the bay andrige trails and also GGNRA and the east bay regiinal park system, plus if you joined the historical society that night, you received a book of your choice and hiking card deck,

Doug was very engaging, though not as focused on the Trails as I expected. Nice opportunity to talk with a bunch of trail folks

Wow, its great so many people are interested this! If you have not yet, pls register here (free): http://mcconnellatchs.eventbrite.com/.

I don't know the venue, so I'm not sure the best place, if people want to meet before heading into hear the talk.

There will be Bay Area Ridge Trail and San Francisco Bay Trail tables. Ask at the Ridge Trail table where the meetup group is meeting. If I'm not at the Ridge Trail table, I'll make sure whoever is there knows. Looking forward to it.
