This event continues a journey - experiencing the sights and life of the California State Park System. Here is an opportunity to hike among the redwoods and oak trees at Big Sur. Weather forecast calls for a clear and sunny day.
We will likely hike 10 miles (over 2,000 ft elevation gain) via Valley View Hike and Mt Manuel trails. This is a non-BART hike.
(Modified from our founder Hugo Garcia's original statement.)
This group is meant for people who have wanted to explore the Bay Area Ridge Trail (the BART) and other Bay Area trails or who just enjoy hiking. Since our hikes are normally in the 10-12 miles range with elevation gain, some hiking experience or at least a reasonable fitness level is expected of you to join us.
Additionally (and the reason for the “More” in the group name), we plan to explore: 1. The State Parks of California and 2. The National Parks of the USA.
DISCLAIMER: You take all risks when joining an event, including of being of reasonable fitness or experience to embark on long hikes like this. I am here just to come up with hiking ideas, show the way, and take head counts before and after and be able to explain if there is a difference.
