Rancho Canada Del Oro & Calero CP min 10mi/2400ft

Duration:  5 - 6 hrs

BART Coverage: 0

Difficulty: Difficult - fast paced

Hike:

There is a chance of rain on Sat.  This chance should lessen as we head south, so picking this area for a hike.  Expected route is MayFair Ranch; LongWall Canyon; Bald Peaks; Catamount; LongWall Canyon East; Serpentine Loop North; Bald Peaks East and Serpentine Loop South.  This route is tentative depending on muddy conditions.  The route can be shortened by heading back to the parking lot after LongWall Canyon East.

It is unlikely that the hike will be cancelled unless there is heavy rain.  Check on day of hike. Bring rain gear, boots and hiking poles.

No rain except for about 10 minutes near the end and it was not even very muddy. It was nice to see the landscape getting greener and water flowing in the creeks. Thank you, Edmond!

Annie! Hello! It's at 11:00 am on Saturday March 1st of 2014. Please eat some Belgian cookies. You must be low on sugar. ;-)

I see. Meetup does not localize event times...and I am traveling on the east coast. Mystery solved and no cookies needed!

Trail Map link above connects to Butano SP. Here's the URLs for Rancho and Calero: http://www.openspaceauthority.org/trails/pdf/RCDO_Map_08-2007.pdf

A RCDO-Calero loop makes for a wonderful hike!
