For those without plans this weekend, your are invited to visit/hike the newly established Pinnacles National Park. This will be a day hike. We have a cool day (compared to average) on Saturday coming - low to mid 70s...good hiking weather.
Bring your camera - beautiful terrain and hill lands. We may see condors, snakes, bats, etc.
Come prepared (plenty of water, lunch, clothing layers, good hiking footwear, etc.)
See link below for park information:
Meeting Place -
Visitor Center (we will meet here and then take a shuttle bus to the trailhead)
Call me at[masked] if you get lost. I would recommend carpooling to this remote area. The site is approximately 1 hour south from Gilroy.
For those wanting to carpool from Gilroy, I will be at 7900 Arroyo Cir, Gilroy, CA, US, 95020 (near the Gilroy Outlets, close to a McDonalds Restaurant). I will be here from 7:30am and leave at 8:00am.
From the San Francisco Bay Area to the East Entrance:
Take Hwy 101 south through the city of Gilroy to Hwy 25 south. On Hwy 25, go through the town of Hollister and continue about 30 miles to Hwy 146. Turn right on Hwy 146, then turn left into the Pinnacles Campground to check in at Pinnacles Visitor Center. From the campground, the Bear Gulch Area is 3.5 miles further into the park along Hwy 146.
Arrival Process -
Upon arrival at the park, please check in at an entrance station, visitor center, or ranger station to get a receipt for your vehicle.
If you are a passholder, please check in or place your pass on your dashboard signature side up.
