Come enjoy a fun, strenuous hike along the Santa Cruz Mountains, northeast of Half Moon Bay. This is a new hike area for this group (also for the National Parks Service - acquired 2 years ago).
Although there are no official public, dedicated trail heads, parking staging is available from the cities of Moss Beach and El Granada.
We will meet at the intersection of Highway 1 and St Etheldore Street; there are two potential intersections - meet at the south end, closer to Half Moon Bay.
We will hike the following - San Vicente Trail / Ember Ridge Trail / Spine Trail / Farmer's Daughter Trail / Ranch Road.
We will hike in the Golden Gate National Recreational Area.
Here is a link with maps of the area.
After the main hike, if there is interest to walk the beach bluff (about 1 mile) , we can drive to Pillar Point Bluff (off Airport Street, Moss Beach, CA).
I anticipate this will be a 8 to 10 mile hike with significant elevation gain of approx. 2,000 feet.
Please come prepared with water and food, clothing layers and hiking shoes and other survival gear you need.
If you have questions or run late, contact me at[masked]-5798.
For after hours, we have several options in El Granada / Half Moon Bay.
