This continues a journey to state parks about the bay area.
(FYI This park is slated for closure in July).
Please arrive at 9:45AM to start at 10AM.
We will park at a day use parking lot (adjacent to the campground parking lot). This is located off North San Pedro Road (off campground entrance driveway). If parking is not available here, you are okay to park along North San Pedro Road before the entry (per the Park Ranger).
I am planning for a 8-10 mile. This hike appears to be a moderate hike; maybe 1,000 feet elevation gain. The plan for the hike route is as follows: Bay View Trail - Back Ranch Fire Trail - Ridge Fire Trail - Miwok Fire Trail - Oak Ridge Trail - Shoreline Trail. If there is interest (I believe there will be) we can veer to a look out point/cove (or two).
This likely will take 3-4 hours.
We can plan to visit a local restaurant for food/drink as a after hike event (this is optional).
(Modified from our founder Hugo Garcia's original statement.)
This group is meant for people who have wanted to explore the Bay Area Ridge Trail (the BART) and other Bay Area trails or who just enjoy hiking. Since our hikes are normally in the 10-12 miles range with elevation gain, some hiking experience or at least a reasonable fitness level is expected of you to join us.
Additionally (and the reason for the “More” in the group name), we plan to explore: 1. The State Parks of California and 2. The National Parks of the USA.
DISCLAIMER: You take all risks when joining an event, including of being of reasonable fitness or experience to embark on long hikes like this. I am here just to come up with hiking ideas, show the way, and take head counts before and after and be able to explain if there is a difference.
