Hike # 14_2009 - Coyote Creek#2 (Metcalf Park to Anderson Lake) ~ 11 Miles

NOTE THAT THERE IS A $6 PARKING FEE. SO BRING $ BILLS FOR THE MACHINE.

One more one-way-hike and car shuttle back type of hike. The Hike: This is an easy hike although long and on mostly paved trail. We'll start the BART/Coyote Creek Trail just off Metcalf Park and we'll take it all the way to Anderson Lake reservoir where we will do a short loop to the dam before going to our shuttle cars. See below for trail details and trail maps.

Parking: Everyone, please drive and park at the Live Oak Group Area parking lot near Anderson Lake. The parking lot is just to your left on Cochrane Rd just past St Marks Avenue. Below is google map to help you with directions. We'll efficiently carpool from here to the the start of the hike at the parking lot near Metcalf Park on the Monterey HWY (82).

Meeting point: I'll be visible in the Live Oak parking lot area with my usual tan baseball cap and my dark blue honda crv. Call if you are running late or get lost at [masked].

Optional After hike event: How about El Toro Brewing Co.?

Finally getting around to uploading my GPS routes unto my Topo and getting some better statistics than the original estimate: For this hike the final distance was ~11.1mi and the gain ~389ft.

Very enjoyable, Hugo is great. It was fun to be able to talk with everyone throughout the hike since it was easy.

After doing the whole coyote creek trail from Tully, I would recommend doing this trail more as a bike or rollerblading event. The paved road is too long and hard on the knees for walking.

Forgot to mention but the parking lot charges a $6 parking fee. Bring dollars for the machine or go into the park to get a parking ticket or change from the ranger.
