Announcing a new Meetup for Bay Area Ridge Trail & More!

What: Antelope Lake Camping/Hiking Trip

When: Friday, July 2,[masked]:00 PM

Where:
Antelope Lake - Long Point
Fruit Growers Blvd
Norfolk, CA 95006

INITIALLY, EVERYONE WILL GO ON A WAIT LIST. UNTIL JUNE 23, I WILL BE RESERVING 10 SPOTS FOR PEOPLE BASED ON B.A.R.T. SENIORITY AND THEN 5 SPOTS TO SOME PEOPLE WHO MAY NOT HAVE A LOT OF SENIORITY BUT THAT I HAVE PERSONALLY BEEN DISCUSSING WITH ABOUT THE CAMPING. AFTER WEDNESDAY, ITS FIRST COME FIRST SERVED FROM THE WAITING LIST.

This is an exploratory camping trip. I have never been to this place and picked it more or less at random. I started looking for camping too late to get reservations for this time of the year in the popular areas so this will have to do for our July 4th camping. The descriptions for this place sound nice though:
"Antelope Lake is one of the more remote, quiet lakes on the (Plumas National) forest. At 5000 feet in elevation, Antelope Lake is located in the north eastern part of the Mt. Hough Ranger District. It is a small remote lake with 15 miles of shoreline. Surrounding the lake are mountains blanketed with pine and fir trees. Protected coves around the lake attract several species of migrtory birds."

There are no showers but our campsite is next to the lake where they allow swimming.
