I took a ride up Sierra Rd today; parking is very limited at the designated trail junction parking lot.
Also, no parking is allowed on Sierra Rd.
Therefore, we will start from Alum Rock Park and complete the 15+ mile version.
Once again, this is a difficult hike; lots of elevation gain (likely over 3,000).
As this is a in and out, you are wlecome to turn back as you feel anytime.
I am planning for a fast pace to complete the entire BART segment and to get back before sundown; bring your head lamps. We should see a great sunset.
Lastly, I am adjusting the time to meet at 10AM; this will put us up the hill before the ribbon cutting ceremony; we will hangout for about 1 hour before the trail opens up.
Look at for my blue 4Runner. My number is [masked], if needed.
BTW Great view up there!
