Announcing a new Meetup for Bay Area Ridge Trail & More! I need a response fro this event ASAP to make reservations and plans. Thanks.

What: Green Tortoise -Hiking-Wine Sonoma Weekend Tour

When: October 10,[masked]:00 AM

Where:
Annadel State Park
6201 Channel Dr
Santa Rosa, CA 95409
(407)[masked]

This is a tentative plan. If I get about 25 people with a firm interest the we will proceed with it.

How would some of you like to do a hiking and wine tour of the Sonoma wineries near Annadel State Park and Hood Mountain? And even more exciting have someone else do the driving, cooking, and provide the sleeping accomodations for Saturday night? We may possibly be able to do something just like that with.
Green Tortoise.

The plan is this:
1.Depart Saturday morning with Green Torotoise from a place to be determined.
2.Head straight to our BART Annadel hike that I will post later.
3. After our hike, Green Tortoise will pick us up and take us on a mini-tour of local wineries.
4. Set-up or park somewhere (perhaps a winery if not a campground?) nearby for dinner and sleep on the bus.
5. Have Sunday breakfast cooked by Green Tortoise.
6. Get dropped off for our BART Hood Mt. hike.
7. Get picked up by Green Tortoise and then do another winery tour or be driven home?

As far as cost and further logistics this some info I got back by Green Tortoise:

"Usual cost for 24 hours/1 driver is $1200" GT may be willing to give that price to us for our our ~36 hour trip?

"Food: Usual Tortoise cooking is vegetarian. You can ask for a menu or let the Driver choose/shop, up to us.
Dinner: $5/person Breakfast $3/person (assuming light: coffee/tea/fruit/bagels or cereal or some such).
Camping or other use fees would be added."

"Seena's Info: The Bus is very comfortable for 27 people, still comfy up to 30, can sleep 36 but it's tight and stuffy if the bus is just parked all night, no A/C running."

"Seena's back-of-the-envelope thinking & figuring: If you had 25 participants, you'd need to charge $50 each to be in the ballpark, not including camping/use fees which haven't been figured out yet"

So that's the scoop on this event. Please RSVP if you think you'd be fine with cost and would like to participate? As mentioned above expect about $50 plus perhaps ~$10-20 more to cover additional stuff? I am planning to use this outfit for a spring Bryce-Zion-Grand Canyon in 2010 and so it would be great to try them out now to see how they are?
