Tell us what level hiking / walking / backpacking / climbing you are experience and / or interested in! Rate yourself -- 1 is Rail-Trail Experience, 10 is Mt. Rainier!

Rating.......who cares. I can go into the deep wilderness and find my way out with a compass. I can navigate a herdpath. I have never run out of H2O or food on my adventures. And while on the trail, I can craft relevant lyrics to old tunes that are sarcastic and humorous. I have done overnight mid winter backpacking trips, snowshoeing adventures, climbed steep ledges while claiming the NE 115 and more. I summited some S. Rocky MTN Peaks (13K)and bushwhacked blindly with the best of them.

Tell us about your favorite hikes and / or times walking in the woods!

My favorite times, although it sounds too simple, is hiking with Carron. She and I have hiked the NE111 together and our relationship never wavered. Carron will tell you that I always seem quite speedy, but I have learned over the years to slow my pace snd enjoy the moment.

Are you an ADK 46er? Catskill 35er? Any other hiking accomplishments you would like to share?

CAT3500, 46er, NH48, NE115er (NE111er), ME 14er , TCT 32......good resume' maybe. My biggest accomplishment is hiking with the best friends a hiker could have. Thanks to all my friends for pulling me through these hikes.

What other outdoor activities do you like? Water sports? Rock climbing? Backpacking? Biking? Alpine / Snowboarding / Telemark / X-Country Skiing?

I have been an active mtn biker and hiker in recent years. I have been snowshoeing and hiking most of my life (off and on). I run 4 times /week . I snowshoe regularly now and workout at gym 3 days a week. I throw a challenging hike in once a week. I hike fast because I have been cursed with energy!

Tell us about your best and worst time out on the trail ...

Best time on the trail is mtn biking/hiking on the mtn trails and mesa trails in Santa Fe. I was interesting because it was so demanding. Coming face to face with a rabid fox while hiking ..... I ran fast...faster than the fox did. Best time on the trail is climbing the slides in the ADK mountains. Second worst time was lying down at the Lake Harris Campground after sprinting through the Santa Range and feeling a "twang" in my lower abdomen.......tadah....a hernia! Thanks to good medicine...surgery in a week,,,one weeks later I did 4 high peaks!

Introduction

Hiking has brought me closer to the realization that I am simply a small (tiny) part of this big world. I apreciate those conservationists, environmentalists, and naturalists that paved the way for future generations.

What 4mincharlie AKA F. is saying about this Meetup Group

On Saturday, we hiked another awesome Catskill peak in both Cornell and Whitt! The hike had a little of everything, including ledge climbing and bushwhacking. These two peaks do not get enough credit. As always, it was enjoyable to hike with Bud , Kari, Laura Lee, and Carron. The day was beautifully scripted due to temps and weather. Thanks for hiking guys!
