Tell us what level hiking / walking / backpacking / climbing you are experience and / or interested in! Rate yourself -- 1 is Rail-Trail Experience, 10 is Mt. Rainier!

10. Ranier, Kilimanjaro, Kinabalu, the Monk, . ADK46, Catskill 3500. White Mt 4000's.

Tell us about your favorite hikes and / or times walking in the woods!

Cinque Terra was a very nice day hike, often along the top of a cliff overlooking the sea.

Are you an ADK 46er? Catskill 35er? Any other hiking accomplishments you would like to share?

Many years ago, winter camped several times down to -20F, e.g. at Lake Colden. Hiked above treeline in whiteouts in the Whites (pre-GPS).

What other outdoor activities do you like? Water sports? Rock climbing? Backpacking? Biking? Alpine / Snowboarding / Telemark / X-Country Skiing?

Cross-country skiing, occasional downhill skiing. Occasional backpacking, most recently 4 days in the Enchantment Basin (WA). Rarely rock-climbing, canoing, biking.

Tell us about your best and worst time out on the trail ...

Best times: 12 days hiking from Chamonix to Zermatt in June-July 2008; see http://hauteroutehiker.wordpress.com/ <p> 4 days in the Enchantments (WA) in Nov 2007. Worst times: having to cancel a climb of Baker on the 3rd day because of throwing up; having the guide cancel a climb of Hood because the snow was too soft.
