Lines Dance Studio's website:

HOW TO FIND LINES DANCE STUDIO/PARKING: It's inside the building with the state farm sign *see picture in link below*

There's street parking and you can park behind the state farm building in the u.s. bank parking lot where there is plenty of parking available.

If you take public transportation it's only like 2 blocks from the max station.

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable! However do remember you are going to be getting a good workout and will be sweating.

Below are some recommendations.

Good shoes for dancing for ladies: Heels is the norm (they help with your spinning). Avoid high heels if you're a beginner (try with 1 or 2 inches then go higher as you get better in your dancing). If you are interested in dancing shoes speak to instructor Anita for advice.

Good shoes for dancing for guys: Any shoe with a flat sole, dress shoes for guys (non-rubber sole if possible preferably leather sole)

Bad shoes for dancing: sneakers, tennis shoes, flip flops, bowling shoes.

WATER: you might need it. Bring your own or you can buy bottled water there for 50c

GUM: Remember you'll probably be dancing with someone so be courteous.

YOUR SMILE: Nobody likes to dance with a poker face. Show your smile while dancing! Remember dancing is fun, dancing is happiness, be happy!

Wow, guess I am really older than I think. I do remember when Friday nights trolling didn't start til 9 or 10, but then I was in my 20's and thought nothing of it! Guess I will have to get back in the groove. Salsa would be great. The tango is just such a sexy, slow, intense dance. At least from what I have seen it is, but then I am the student, not the expert.

Why so late guys? I would love to learn to tango. Such wonderful energy, but starting at 9:30? How about starting earlier then heading somewhere for a glass of wine to quench the thirst we would work up.

Lynn you mean salsa?? ;) They have a class on fridays 7:30pm-9pm which is why they can't do it earlier. I think another factor is that when it comes to social dancing the standard is usually 10pm (that's when most salsa clubs start in Portland). 9:30pm is actually early on a friday to start dancing on a friday!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
