There will be an Election Day Hindi/Bengali/Punjabi poll site interpreters recruiting event at Jackson Heights Library, 35-51 81 Street, Jackson Heights, NY 11372, from 10:30am to 5pm this Saturday may 26th.

If you are 18 or above, speak one or more of these languages and English, come by the library and fill out a simple one-page application. While you volunteer to help your community to vote and gain work experience in democracy, you also get paid $200 for working on each election way. The detail will be on the application.

So come by This Saturday if you are interested. And tell all your friends too.

NYC Board of Elections is also looking for two in-house hindi/Bengaili/Punjabi translators. You have to be either Democratic or Republican. Have to be good at one of the languages and English. You will be translating voting/election material on a daily basis. See their website http://vote.nyc.ny.us... for multilingual material to get an idea and see if you can handle it. City employee benefits. If you are interested, you can bring me your resume this Saturday and I will help you to hand it in. I only help to hand it in, I'm not involved in the hiring process. But good luck to you.
