  • May 17, 2009 · 9:30 AM

Here is an awesome event we all can enjoy. Thank you Mitch for the heads up. Lets car pool and caravan http://www.miamidade.... "The Greynolds Park Love-In is a celebration of the 1960s with music, vintage clothing and memorabilia. Once a hangout of the “flower child,” Greynolds Park during the 1960s was the site in Miami for jam sessions, poetry readings and peaceful demonstrations. That spirit is captured in the annual Love-In, when approximately 5,000 groovy guys and gals turn out for the one-day event which features a live concert with a national act from the ‘60s and activities for the entire family. This year, rock music legend Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels headlines in concert with famous hits such as "Devil With A Blue Dress On," "Sock it to Me Baby!" and "Jenny Takes A Ride!" Also performing are Rewind, BrokeDown, Miami Rock Ensemble, and Blackstar. The family will enjoy a host of activities and exhibits which include: * 60s Costume Contest * 60s-Style Vendors * A Fun Kids Zone * Food and Drink Vendors * Arts and Crafts * Vintage Volkswagen Bug exhibits We will share cost of parking and gas

Thanks Ron and Katrina for your kind words about the band REWIND. (I am the bass player.) Actually, Ron, it was Blackstar who had the horn section. REWIND did the Zepellin songs. Glad you guys enjoyed it. Thanks, again.

I had a groovey, outasight, memorable day!! Our group had a nice spot under a huge tree so we weren't in the sun. I especially loved getting up there in the 2nd row from the stage rockin out to some GREAT old songs from the band Rewind, surrounded by people of every age! But I have to say our generation is the COOLEST!! I always love hanging out with this group!! We are all laid back, have a great time together with old time rock music in our souls! Dinner afterwards with everybody was a lot of fun, and the car conversations we had to and from kept us all laughing! GREAT DAY!!!

Real Groovy, Carpooling was fun we had great conversation and Fun. Mitch played with "Miami Rock Ensemble", very talented. We enjoyed all the bands, "Rewind" had some awesome music with Horns. "Blackstar" had a singer who could sing Led Zepplin hits that sounded just like Led Zepplin, and Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels gave us some great new songs and the old classics. Devil with the Blue Dress had everyone singing along. It started to rain just as Mitch Rider started his first song, Like true Hippies we were not affected, we stood in the rain and watched the band perform without missing a beat. The rain lasted about 10 minutes, we all were cooled off.
The event had great food and tie die scarves, skirts and peace sign jewelry, The had a tie dye group to tie dye your shirt for you.
Afterwards we ate at the Peter Pan Diner in Ft Lauderdale. Great Food, our waitress took a group picture for us.

We are going to do this event next year. For Sure!
