I'm really excited to let you know about a documentary called HAPPY, based on positive psychology. Next Saturday, February 11th is World HAPPY Day and thousands of people in over 40 countries across the globe are coming together to watch premiere screenings of it.
HAPPY is the latest film by Academy Award nominated director Roko Belic. I met Roko and previewed HAPPY in 2011 at a positive psychology summit. I was so inspired by the film and by his pursuit of using storytelling to bring the science of happiness and flourishing alive. After the screening I came up to Roko and said, “I want to organize a screening in New York,” and so we are.
On February 11th, people worldwide will unite in a variety of venues to experience this inspirational documentary as Roko sets out to explore exactly what happiness is, and where it comes from. His quest took him from the bayous of Louisisana to the mountains of Bhutan, and he finds stories of joy, connection, adversity, and courage everywhere in between. Roko weaves in interviews some of the world’s leading experts in positive psychology and the science of well-being. It’s amazing and I think so many people would experience a boost in their positivity ratio simply watching it!
If you’re in the NY Tri State Area, join us for a screening of HAPPY at the New York Open Center at 8pm. (Click here for tickets and more information). Afterward, I'll be leading the Q&A about the science of happiness, cultivating well-being, and affecting positive change both personally and globally.
Not in the New York area? That’s okay! That’s the best part about World HAPPY Day. With screenings in over 400 cities, chances are there’s one happening near you. Click here to find a HAPPY venue in your community.
I love the reasoning behind World HAPPY Day: Happy People = Happy World. Join me in being a part of the happiness revolution.
With Love and Light,
