I'd love to learn to make soap and candles, learn more about caring for livestock, (although I doubt this group will touch on that!) and I'm always looking to expand my fiber art and gardening abilities. I would also love a chance to work on baking, cooking and cheese-making.
I don't mind sharing what I know, although I'd hardly call myself an expert! I have a certificate in horticulture, so I've done my fair share of planting things, although it leans more towards the ornamental side of gardening than food production. I can knit, crochet, weave, tat, spin a very little on a drop spindle, sew by hand, treadle or electric. I can wash clothes by hand, I've made things like fences, gates and decks (but with electricity!), trimmed trees, and have done some small-scale non-ferrous metal working, with the largest thing I've made being a copper bowl. I can also throw clay on a(n electric) wheel, and can hand-build clay mugs (although I much prefer to throw them!) On the less glamorous side of things, I've mucked horse stalls, and assisted in caring for ducks and chickens by feeding, watering and penning them for the night. Anything more intensive was cared for by the professional animal handler.
I love to learn new things and stretch myself!
