Lose the Lawn; a Low-water Landscape Design and Installation Class

The idea of a turf lawn started as grasslands around medieval castles in France and Britain, kept clear of trees so guards had an unobstructed view of approaching, perhaps hostile, visitors. Later the meadows became commons where villagers could graze their sheep and cattle. These hooved lawn mowers kept the grass cropped and fertilized as they grazed. A little further in history we see the lawn twisted into a status symbol by the wealthy landowners and unfortunately, that’s where it has stuck today. But we’re going to change that!
Come learn the secrets of designing a low-water, water-wise or native landscapes! There are tons of resources available to the homeowner to help fund the switch from water hogging lawn to water effiecent landscape! We'll start by diving into the design process step-by-step and how to inventory your needs and wants into a manageable project that you can actually finish! We’ll go through different resources you as a homeowner has and the processes of claiming some conversion rebates for yourself! We’ll also take a look of some real-life specific plants that meet low-water plant requirements as well as go over proper installation and care of plants.
This class is FREE, but we do ask that you stay and help plant our material so that you can get hands-on experience on proper planting. So, please wear clothes that are okay to get dirty in and any gloves or hats that you might need. Bring something to drink as it will probably get hot and something to munch on if you get hungry. I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
