Build Your Own Hydroponic Floating Raft Garden

Build Your Own Hydroponic
Floating Raft Garden
Saturday, August 31, 10 am – 1 pm
Be Ready, Inc.
602 Garrison St, Oceanside, 92054
The Aztecs and Incas amazed the Spanish conquistadors with their floating gardens. Organic debris was taken from the bottom of Lake Tenochtitlan and placed on the rafts which were made of reeds, rushes and weeds. Plants were placed on top. The plant roots grew through and down into the water below. Some of the Chinampas were as long as 200 feet, growing vegetables, flowers. Use as a stand alone Hydroponics grow system, or, integrate with your Aquaponics system.
During this in-depth, hands on workshop, you will learn the principles of applying Hydroponics floating raft technique as an easy sustainable gardening method, then review parts, cut and prepare materials, and build your own 4’x4’ Floating Raft garden to take home.
Your new garden will be able to hold up to 90 plants,
equal to 3 full raised beds in one, with 1/10th the water usage.
Cost: $200 (Includes complete instruction, all materials including lumber, circulation system, liner, raft, plant cups, and fertilizer starter pack)
There are a limited number of spaces available on a first come,
first served basis.
A $50 non refundable deposit is required to secure your spot.

I won't be able to attend but I really hope someone takes pictures of what the finished thing looks like. I'm very interested in taking this class one day!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
