Free - Bates Nut Farm Fall Festival/Farm Education Day

Come join San Diego Urban Homesteaders and Ag PALS as we celebrate an annual tradition

We will be hosting guest speakers throughout the day. Stay tuned for announcements.  

This will also serve as our core meeting, so join us to discuss ideas about our future.

A full weekend of Fall activities! 
Farm Education Day (9/28), Bates Nut Farm will once again host Farm Education Day from 10:00 – 4:00, featuring representatives from the farm and agriculture community to share unique and diverse stories of their “Life on the Farm” experiences. This is an opportunity for people of all ages to learn about growing plants, beekeeping, wool spinning, farm animals, and other farm activities. Live entertainment and food will be available in the afternoon, along with tractor hayrides, picnicking and the farm zoo. Bates Nut Farm’s Farm Education Day is open to the public and free of charge. No reservations are required.

Scouting Day on the farm (9/28); Join scouts form all over the region, as they explore life on the farm.

Early Days Gas & Tractor Association (9/28 & 29);EDGETA Branch 22 and Vista Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum will be on hand to share equipment from their nostalgic collections from 9:00 – 5:00 both days. Antique tractors, trucks, washing machines, toys, tools, pumps, and stationary engines in operation will all be featured. Nearly 70 members of these two organizations will be available to answer your questions and teach you about how things were done generations ago. The whole family will enjoy demonstrations throughout the day featuring quilt making on hand cranked sewing machines, blacksmithing, and ice cream making.

Tractor parade both days at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. Pumpkin 

Patch, Straw Maze and Hayride open both days.
