This is an interactive tutorial with experienced permaculture designer, Taif Gold, who will demonstrate how incredibly useful Sketchup (a free 3D design software) can be for designing the property of your choice, at any scale. The tutorial will cover: importing 3D terrain data from google earth, creating contours at different intervals, and using existing models from the 3D warehouse to design swales, ponds, gardens and food forests. Also, how to create your own Sketchup models of trees, shrubs, buildings, etc. and post them to the 3D warehouse to share with designers around the world.
Participants who bring their laptops can download terrain imagery of a site of their choice, and Taif will help them start designing it.
RSVP to [masked].
*Participants are asked to download Sketchup before the workshop, if Sketchup 2013 doesn’t work on your computer Sketchup 8 is fine.
