If you support Bees, consider joining this membership organization.
We are reaching a crucial point in our efforts to change the San Diego County beekeeping ordinance. We are calling this special meeting in order to update our members on what the new proposed ordinance is. The board at SDBS has been working with County of San Diego to draft a new ordinance that will start being reviewed by County Community Planning Groups in the coming few weeks

I will go to the 8/7 meeting in Ramona. Balboa Park is too far away on a work day. I've thought about putting some beehives on my property but haven't yet pursued it...guess I'm afraid of the Africanized bees invading.

Although Africanized bees have been a concern, their numbers have been diluted by breeding with our bees. You don't hear many stories of attacks as when they first arrived.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
