Hi everyone! My art startup and gallery Mischmasch (http://www.mischmasch.com) just launched a new project called Bitpix, computer chip infused limited edition art prints. Each print contains a mini RFID chip to identify and prove its authenticity, at the same time provide an interactive visual experience. We believe technology has the ability to evoke new experiences with art, bringing you one step closer to the artist. Please check it out: http://www.bitpix.hk
I hope this generates dialogue about art in the digital era.
We'll have a launch party and demo for Bitpix on May 23, 6 — 9pm at Mischmasch Gallery, come join us to see how it works in person! (http://www.mischmaschgallery.com)
The launch/demo will coincide with the opening of our new exhibition "Infinite Jest" featuring artist, illustrator and comic whiz Marco Tóxico from Bolivia and one of our most popular artists Emily Lau from Hong Kong.
Here's an excerpt from the "Infinite Jest" press release:
"As digital increasingly becomes the resounding medium for expression, it is important to re-balance the virtual and the physical. As people try to criticize and counter a seemingly cold digital era, the first emotions that surface are contempt and sadness. However, a more memorable and captivating form of expression is wit. Art with quick wit contains incisive criticism that sums up the follies of our self-obsessed, pleasure-obsessed and entertainment-obsessed era. Art that is both critical and whimsical are more potent, convincing, delightful and enduring. Infinite Jest is a show that encapsulates the goal of Mischmasch — highlighting works by emerging artists with wit and social commentary targeted at our generation, artworks that recapture the essence of humanity after 10 years of technological change."

Hope to see you there!
