I work at the island6 Arts Center in Shanghai. We are opening a new space in Hong Kong, situated at 1, New Street, in Sheung Wan, with our inaugural show "Dripping With Aurum". On Friday the 29th June, from 7-10PM. (more info here, FYI: http://www.island6.org/DrippingWithAurum_info.html)
island6 is an artist-founded, artist-run "art first" not-for-profit organization based in Shanghai with a production site and an adjoining gallery for the cutting-edge, new media artwork of the Liu Dao art collective. The Liu Dao Art Collective is a group of Chinese artists working under foreign art directive. What separates island6 from the many other artist collectives is that the individuals participating are from all sorts of backgrounds - from writers and choreographers to engineers and technicians. The multi-disciplinary group thus comments on China and other site-specific projects from varied perspectives, but always with a slight hint of humor.
Founded in Shanghai in 2006, Liu Dao has since been exhibit all over the world and is represented most notably by Red Gate Gallery (Beijing), Art Seasons (Singapore) and Tally Beck Contemporary (NYC). We are now opening a gallery in Hong Kong on the 29th of June with our inaugural show being "Dripping With Aurum".
Please find below some relevant links that will give you a clear idea of who we are. Also, attached is the press release of the inaugural show "Dripping With Aurum".
