Mindset, Behaviour and Systems Change: Pt 1 - An Overview

Who should Participate

For those who want to know more about mindset, create lasting behaviour change, and impact big systems; For those who want to find simplicity, joy, and meaning in their life.

This is the first of a series of workshops on the topic of mindset, behavioural change, and systems change. You can join any of them while you will benefit the most by joining as many as you can to continually build your understanding.

Overview and Objective

The world is more complex than it's ever been -  too much information available,   too many choices to make, too many skills to learn… It's getting ever challenging to making sense of our daily experience - demanding work, rising price, our kids' education, local news,  global issues…

So we try to relax, we seek to simplify our life to find happiness. But how?

The truth for most of us is that the world is more complex than our thinking. So we need to develop and transform our mind just to keep up with the complexity, before we can find simplicity on the other side of complexity.

What is mindset

Mindset is why we think, feel and act the way we do. Mindset directs our actions and flavours our moment to moment experience of life. While success and the quality of our experience also depends on other factors such as our skills, circumstances and luck, mindset is the most consistent and effective way to influence the results.

Our theory of mindset is developed through years of study; it has been tested and proved powerful in creating lasting behaviour change on both personal and organizational level.

In the first session of the series, we will:

•  Look at the relationship between mindset, behaviour and systems change.

• Examine a thorough and clear theory of mindset including attitude, identity, and psychological baggage.

• Explore the limits of focusing on only some aspects of mindset or other personal skills, and why it's important to master mindset in a holistic approach.

• The importance of context in how provides any practice of personal development meaning and direction.

Hi Andy, we tried using Fuzebox today, it did not seem to work as well as Google Hangout. So we have updated the link and instructions.

@Yan, thanks for that. So that's exactly right @April, although the concept is that they are they same, and more or less the same focus, the conversations will be quite different because of different people. So feel free to come to either, they are both an introduction or come to both... whatever makes your eyelashes curl ;)

@Yan and @Andy... I'm wondering if we shouldn't make this a little later, like 8:30pm or even 9:30pm. I now later, 9:00 or 9:30 would work out better for me. What do you think... we don't have to change, just asking.

    April 1, 2014

    • Yan L.

      I will make it 9_10:30.
