Hoodlums is a group for experienced software developers interested in the programming language Haskell. Members range in experience from those just reading about the language to those working with it daily. The purpose of the group is to help members learn from each other, to share experience, provide a forum for questions and to get a chance to hack some code.
We meet monthly on the second Thursday of the month in Canary Wharf. It is a "Coding Dojo" format where we pick some interesting problem and solve it as a group. Bring a laptop, we have WiFi and a projector.
The group is open to people of any level of Haskell experience, though you should know what functional programming is and have a grasp of at least basic syntax. This is very much a practice focused group with no presentations of academic research.
I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
