Texas Frightmare Weekend 2012!

We're pleased to announce the sponsor for Texas Frightmare Weekend 2012 will be Warner Bros. and GameStop presenting WBIE’s new game Lollipop Chainsaw available on June 12th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation3.

What does this mean for attendees?

For starters, in conjunction with Warner Bros. and GameStop, TFW 2012 will have an exclusive, hands-on look at the upcoming hit Lollipop Chainsaw. There will be a gaming arena at the convention where you can be one of the first to put your hands on the actual gameplay battling hordes of the undead all weekend. The star of Lollipop Chainsaw, Juliet Starling will make appearances throughout the weekend – something you will not want to miss! Juliet will be licking her favorite strawberry lollipops and roaming the halls of TFW 2012 looking for the next rotted corpse to rip in half with her trusty chainsaw. Yep, the chainsaw is family here in Texas and we're excited to welcome Lollipop Chainsaw to ours!

Lollipop Chainsaw is the 'un-deadly' story of sweet and killer zombie-hunter Juliet Starling and her quest to uncover the root of a colossal zombie outbreak in her town starting at her high school. With her wickedly awesome chainsaw in hand, Juliet slices, dices and splits her way through hordes of the undead but soon realizes the horde is only the opening act to a festival of zombie rock lords determined to kill the chainsaw-wielding cheerleader. Lollipop Chainsaw is being developed by Grasshoper Manufacture, led by celebrated game developer Goichi Suda (aka SUDA 51) and featuring the musical compositions of the renowned Akira Yamaoka. In addition, Hollywood director and writer James Gunn (Super, Slither, Dawn of the Dead, Tromeo and Juliet) has brought his cult humor and edgy storytelling to Lollipop Chainsaw's script.

We’ve teamed up with Mondo and famed artist “Ghoulish” Gary Pullin to present the Texas Frightmare Weekend 2012 event poster. Under the direction of Mondo, Gary Pullin created this incredible design inspired by Texas Frightmare Weekend 2012 guest Gunnar Hansen and our first time THEY LIVE reunion with appearances by Keith David, Roddy Piper and Meg Foster. You don’t even need sunglasses to see that Leatherface has been assimilated by those pesky aliens!

As previously announced, Gary Pullin will be an official TFW 2012 guest and is looking forward to signing your posters at his booth. Additionally, Mondo will be set up all weekend long so make sure to stop by and check out their incredible merchandise as well.

These amazing screen printed posters are 24" x 36"
, feature GLOW IN THE DARK INK and are limited to only 250. The cost is $40 and will only be available to purchase in person at the TFW ticket booth. But don’t snooze. These will go faster than Roddy Piper can chew bubblegum and you’ll kick your own ass for missing out. Start lining up now!

Our 2012 T-Shirt was also designed by Gary with a slight variation on the Mondo poster. They're available for pre-order now but only for pick up at the show.

Reserve yours HERE starting at only $18.95!

Since 1995, Edward Douglas has been a staple of the Halloween, gothic music, haunted attraction, and role-playing game industries as one half of “the first haunted house band,” Midnight Syndicate. In addition to scoring several feature films and working with companies such as Universal Studios Orlando and Hasbro's Wizards of the Coast, his music has been featured in everything from Hugh Hefner’s infamous Halloween parties, Barbara Walters specials and NFL’s Monday Night Football to Xbox games, tracks by Academy Award-winning rap act Three Six Mafia, as well as concerts by dark music pioneers such as the Misfits and King Diamond, and countless TV shows and documentaries relating to horror films and the supernatural.
In this essential workshop for fans of scary movie scores and those looking to pursue a career in horror music, Douglas and host Rue Morgue Music Editor Trevor Tuminski will discuss the importance of music in film and film score design, the do’s and don’ts of composing for cinema, how to navigate yourself in the movie and music business as an aspiring composer, and then open up the floor to your questions.
Cost: FREE! (w/paid convention admission)
Date/Time: TBA
