East Bay Area Trails Council Annual Picnic and Trail Ride

An opportunity for trail users of all stripes to get together and celebrate the beautiful open spaces of the East Bay, and get to know each other better, a chance to celebrate what we all have in common: a deep and abiding love of trails, the outdoors, and taking a little trip through the same. Sharing trails is the essence of our message, and actually doing so in a highly cooperative, and fun loving way can lower barriers faster and more effectively than any other activity. Hikers, cyclists and equestrians join us at the Es Anderson Equestrian Camp on Wildcat Canyon Road near Mineral Springs in Tilden Park. Join us for a guided hike, bike ride or horseback ride, followed by a free BBQ lunch and gathering. Contact Info: RSVP to EBATC at[masked] between April 16th and May 17th.  Please leave a message and say how many are coming and number of horse trailers, if any. Ride leaves at 10:00 am, barbecue lunch at 1:00 p.m.  Thanks to East Bay Regional Park District for providing the picnic site, for waiving the usual parking fee, and for providing lunch. Let's get as many equestrians there as possible to show our support and use of the local trails!

Had a great time with other trail users! Rode about 2 hours from Es Anderson Equestrian Camp down through Wildcat Gorge and back up Meadow View.

Howdy; I'd like to come take a peek. I don't have a horse right now and I can't walk the trails like I used to, but I miss the "horse" community and hope to connect. Maybe someday I'll even ride again. Does this sound like a mismatch for this event? Also, do you use Ham operators for your ride events? I ask only because I'm taking the test soon. Thanks. Cat

Bev, come anyway, we will give you a lot of space :) If it becomes an issue you can split off the ride.

I'm interested but I have a young mare and she needs to be a red ribbon kind of a girl.
