Summary:
Humanity has colonized the solar system - Mars, the Moon, the Asteroid Belt and beyond - but the stars are still out of our reach.
Jim Holden is XO of an ice miner making runs from the rings of Saturn to the mining stations of the Belt. When he and his crew stumble upon a derelict ship, "The Scopuli," they find themselves in possession of a secret they never wanted. A secret that someone is willing to kill for - and kill on a scale unfathomable to Jim and his crew. War is brewing in the system unless he can find out who left the ship and why.
Detective Miller is looking for a girl. One girl in a system of billions, but her parents have money and money talks. When the trail leads him to "The Scopuli" and rebel sympathizer Holden, he realizes that this girl may be the key to everything.
Holden and Miller must thread the needle between the Earth government, the Outer Planet revolutionaries, and secretive corporations - and the odds are against them. But out in the Belt, the rules are different, and one small ship can change the fate of the universe.

I'm reading Caliban's as well. Maybe we could add a meetup for that one?

Likewise! I'm about a quarter of the way through the second book. It's pretty good so far. Nice turnout last night. It sounded pretty much everyone was open to trying the Cafe Express of 59 that has the meeting room. Laura is going to check on that for the group I believe, so cheers to Laura! There was also some interest in continuing the geeks trivia meets and Patrick was going to check about possibly hosting a movie night as his apartment's movie room. Good times, good company!

Happy St Patrick's Day everybody! Unfortunately, I cannot make it this evening. :O( I know Laura had a good suggestion about a Cafe Express off of 59 that has a meeting area. Please let me know how the new location works out, and what location the group prefers for the next meetup. Have fun!

Hey, if any of the rest of you are procrastinators and Kindle readers and Audible listeners... If you get the Kindle version of Leviathan Wakes, you can get the Audible version for 5 bucks and use "Whispersync" to read/listen with the gnomes at Amazon keeping track of where you left off regardless of format. Mostly you can get the audiobook for 5 bucks, is what I'm saying. I <3 audiobooks.

This book has soo many great one liners! I'm not a big fan of highlighting in ebooks, but some of these are too great to pass up!

I'll probably come and just wait for yall to finish talking about this book so I can talk about Ilium. I'm on pace to finish that by the time this meetup happens. Sorry for being the slowest book reader ever.

That's my brother's birthday. Plan on reading the book, though. It sounds good :-)

Looks like a good book, but I'm racing in Oklahoma that weekend. Won't be back in time Sunday night.
