Who is your favorite Sci Fi and/or Fantasy Author(s)?

I really love Jim Butcher, both the Codex Alera series and the Dresden Files; Harlan Ellison makes words sing while telling amazing sci fi stories; I like LeGuin, but I haven't read as much as I'd like to have read; and I enjoyed the first 2 GoT books from George R.R. Martin, but refuse to read any more until he finishes the series...

What book are you currently reading, and do you recommend it?

Just finished Dan Brown's Inferno for another book club, and I would mostly recommend it. I'm not overly pleased with the ending, and it doesn't really qualify as sci fi, although there is a bit of futuristic

How often would you like to meet?

Once or twice a month for books is good. If there are other events, even better.

Where in the Houston area would you like to meet?

I live in the Galleria area, and am still learning my way around, but I enjoy exploring the city!

What do you consider to be an ideal setting? (ex. Coffee Shop, Bar, Someone's house, etc.)

Coffee Shops are good.

I'm an English teacher who loves to read and loves fantasy/sci fi. Anytime I can combine the two I get excited!
