Re: [houston-php] Eclipse IDE and SVN repositories

Thanks I'll check it out.  I'm not married to anything.

After working in C++ and Java and a little in Objective-C for the past year, I've gotten used to working with IDE's.

My objective is to do my php in an IDE (I've always just used Vim) and start controlling my versions in a systematic way rather than the way I've been doing it.  That's what lead me to Eclipse with the Subversion plug-in.

What tools are you using?  Are you using an IDE in conjuction with GIT?

Thanks,
Ted

org.tigris.subversion is the plugin, if your doing this right now though why not setup GIT instead. most shops are working on moving to GIT or are claiming to be "stuck on" subversion.

Hi guys,

Is anyone using the Eclipse IDE in conjunction with Subversion?

I'm new to using subversion, and in spite of the documentation (Subversion) successfully set up a repository (or 12 ha!) on my server.  I've not been successful accessing that repository with the SVN client plugin of the Eclipse IDE.  I am pretty certain that my problem lies with the url when adding a new repository location from within the SVN Repositories window of Eclipse.

I am getting a 'Unable to Validate' alert box with the error:

'Error validating location:  "org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClienException:RA
layer request failed

Which stumps me.  My repository is on my server. Why is Eclipse trying to access "org.tigris.subversion..."?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks guys,
Ted S.
