Toby,

Have you considered downloading the manual from php.net? That way you have all the latest tidbits and you can print it out too.

Hey Joe,

thanks for the tip, but I already own a PHP4 reference book and would never trade it with anything else :)

I decided to go the route to order a PHP 5.2 reference book, and everything I need to know about PHP 5.3 (which isnt much at the moment) I will learn from the online documentation.

Thanks,

Toby

I have a copy of a book that might fit what you are looking for.  It might not fall in the category of "Awesome" but it serves as a reference and has a good presentatiion on the use of PHP.

It come from APRESS www.apress.com and its title is A Programmer's Guide to PHP 4.0.

You should look this site up to see if they have a newer verion or other books you might want.  You can also find books at www.sitepoint.com not only on PHP but other items.

Hope this helps.

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to find a reference book for PHP 5.3...  It should have roughly 500 pages and not be aimed at beginners. So anything without the words "Beginners" in the tittle will be very useful.

Of course, I already tried the mighty el Goog, but I didn't have any luck. So I thought, maybe one of you guys knows of an awesome book that he wants to recommend to me. Yes, i know about the documentation on php.net, but somehow, I'm still old school and would like to actually own a real book. :)

Thanks so much!

Toby
