OK the weather reports all seem to point to this Wednesday to be hot and muggy again with still a slight chance of rain, so screw it! I'm changing the venue and making it Freebirds around the block instead. Same general area, just picking a place where we hopefully can all fit inside.

Oh and of course there's an ice cream shop next door. Both that and the Freebirds close a bit earlier, but oh well.

OK guys, since we have so,e food left and have come into some more KIR777 rations, we're going to have another BBQ/cookout in Herman Park. Same general area (I hope), so just look around all the picnic tables in the area of the park between the Miller Outdoor Theater and the parking lot near the zoo.

And we're going to start a little earlier to avoid so many mosquitoes and just so we won't have to stay out so late since most of us will have to work the next day. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and this time we can do some of the stuff we didn't have time for last. Maybe sled races down the hill, or the egg relay, or hell if we get enough people, maybe even play a game of Kibasen!! (oh boy). Anyways, we'll see.

As last time, when you RSVP, please mention if you're gonna bring something & what it is. Hope to see a lot of you there. Especially those who couldn't make it last time.

AKA-- the "Bobby Flay of the puppy cooking world"

OK, sorry peeps, but the weather forecast is looking not too great for this weekend, so I'm moving this event to next Saturday in the hopes that things might clear up by then. In a way this kind of works out better because the Houston Grand Taiko drumming festival is the exact same weekend. So the two events kind of go together.

So I'm changing it to a BBQ/Puppy Roast/Taiko Drumming concert. I also moved the time up an hour to give us more time to play/cook or just hang out beforehand. Then around 7:30 we'll hopefully have finished cooking the food and we can take it up on the hill and eat while watching the drumming exhibition. I've been almost every year the past few years and have always enjoyed it.

So for those of you who already cleared your schedules for this Saturday (the 12th), Clarisse mentioned the idea of possibly doing karaoke that night, I still haven't heard back from her on whether she was able to set anything up at the last minute. Keep your eyes on this site for any last minute plans all you peeps who still want to get 2gether that night.

Sorry about this guys. Texas weather happens y'know.

We're back at the ol' Tea House for more cheap grub, good Bubble Teas, talking of this stuff we call anime, some game playing maybe, and all around general randomness that we always invariably fall into.

Also since this will be the meetup before Labor Day weekend this will be a good chance for any peeps going to Animefest in Dallas to take care of any last minute plans before leaving the next day (carpooling, room arrangements....etc...). And if I'm not mistaken, this place is open pretty late, so anybody who has to work late that night is still encouraged to come. I'm pretty sure I'll have the following day off work, so I shouldn't have trouble staying late to meet any stragglers who won't be able to come before 10 or 11. Hope to see a lot of you peeps there.

OK guys, we're trying out a new place this time for our regular monthly meetup for two reasons. First, this location doesn’t have a lot of construction going on around it, so hopefully no problems getting in. And second, judging from the noise and amount of space we’ve been taking up in the Café on Kirby due to our significant growth, I think we should give them a break at least for now.

So we are going to try this Café Express location near the Galleria. It has a HUGE outdoor patio area that is covered so we don’t have to worry about if it rains, and maybe this way we won’t have to worry about disturbing the other customers. And of course all these tables we can freely move around.

So just to remind people, this meetup is at the Café Express off the 610 West loop near Post Oak, in the Uptown Village shopping center. And if some people are wondering if this is the same Café Express as the one they used to go to years ago in the Galleria area, then probably not. The old Café further down on Post Oak is no longer there and they moved to this spot closer to the loop. I’m just going to the trouble of pointing this out ‘cuz I know at least a few peeps will show up at the wrong location out of habit or whatever. So you can’t say I didn’t warn you in advance.

Hope to see everybody at this new location. I think this will work out beautifully.
