Hi there, I'm Chris. I'm a longtime anime and manga fan and have been coming to meetups for this group for over a year now. I teach elementary school music by trade and am a huge music and movie geek as well.
R.O.D. TV, Paranoia Agent, Nadesico, Kino's Journey, Dragon Half, and Full Metal Alchemist, to name a few.
I go to the San Diego Comic Con every summer, which is awesome. I've also been to numerous smaller anime conventions.
I was searching for anime in Houston and this group came up thanks to Google.
I'm a renter. I've always been a renter, but Netflix has eliminated the difficulty of finding a cool store that rents anime. I do buy some stuff, but I have to be really into it.
"I also review movies and music and concerts at http://reviewingchris.com
. It'll give you a nice picture of what other kinds of things I'm into."
Yay, meetups!
You must be signed in to post a Greeting.
"Yes, that's a good point. When I went in 2006 it only took 2.5 hours to get in and then in 2007 it was a brief 90 minutes! Oni-Con has always been a paragon of good organization and line management...."
"I try to go at least once during the year, but I need to figure out which weekend it will be. Likely not until November, I can tell you that. October is pretty packed. Maybe the Highland Fling weekend would be good...."
"Well, it's folks like Isaac that are slowly killing the American anime industry by just downloading everything off the internet. But it's not like this is news to anybody, it's been happening for a decade...."
Is there enough interest for a meetup in the North Houston area near 59?
"There's definitely a possibility that I would get out there if you had one."
