Do you use R for professional, academic, or personal projects?

What level of experience with R do you have (novice, moderate, expert)?

What R topics would you like to see presentations on?

Anything. Currently I am using R more for visualization but I am exploring further statistics and I'd love to see some of that also.

What R topics would you be willing to give presentations on?

So far I am pretty beginner.

What would you like to get out of this group?

Good discussions, see how other people uses R, and enjoy the interaction with talented people.

I am a computer scientist working at BCM doing data analysis on NextGen sequencing data.

What David Rio D. is saying about this Meetup Group

I think is great and I can't wait for the next meetings. Some random thoughts: Regarding future talks I think beginning R can be interesting. But I really would like to see how people uses R on their daily work. Personally, I started with R recently ( 4months) and I have been using it mainly for plotting. But I am getting more and more comfortable with the types and the semantics of the language. I am interested on the statistics parts of R. Perhaps someone can think about some talks about that. Thanks Ed for creating this group!
