Spainards are also credit for inventing tapas. Tapa in spanish means lid or cover. The tradition is said to have started in bars; bread and cured ham was placed over beverages, so that the flies couldn't reach the drink. The patrons liked the food so much, it became a successful combination. In time, other small dishes emerged and other regions influenced tapas.

At Spain.info you can read to what Tapas are like in Salamancas. If you press the "eschuchar" button, you can hear a native Spanish speaker, read the paragraph (it has a start, pause, and stop button too).

Did you know that Spainards eat more esgarot than the French? Read more about Spain online: CIA Factbook, LonelyPlanet, or Spain.info.

Andalucia
Andalucia opened its doors to diners, Nov 10th of this year. In such a short time, it has already earned the coveted flavor approval of Spainards in Houston. Andalucia's decor is both rustic and elegant. Along the backwall, it has a well done mural of a bull and matador.

The Food
The menu is now online. View Andalucia's Menu Online Tapas are small appetizers that can either be hot or cold, easy to share with others. Hot Tapas range from $ 4 to $ 10 each, most are between $5 - $7. Cold Tapas range from $ 3- $ 12.

Paella is a popular Spanish rice dish that reminds me of jambalaya, for there are different types of meat used in each paella. The ingredients in a paella can include anything that walks, crawls, flies, or swims. The most popular paellas mariscos, vegetarina, or valencia. The paellas are served in large portions, meant for 2, 4 - 6, or 8-10 people. If everyone pitches in $ 6-7, we can order three different types paellas to share.

Casta Brava Flamenco
At 8:00pm, the flamenco by Casta Brava begins to play. After talking with Carlos Garcia, the lead guitarist of the group. He explained to me that there are many types of flamenco, that there are sub genres within types of flamenco. Each region in Spain tends to have their own version. Casta Brava has performed all over Spain and Latin America; Houston is home. Listen to two songs online.

Parking
Free curbside parking on the weekends. $5 Parking in the Houston Pavillion Garage 1301 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77002. The entrance to the garage is located on Clay.

How to find us?
A hostess can direct you to our group. We'll be sitting in the back of the restaurant, near the giant mural.

Recientemnte, una botella con un mensaje llego a la playa de Galveston. La saque de la arena, quite el corcho, y saque la carta.

Recently, a message in a bottle swept on the shores of Galveston. I picked it up from the sand, removed the cork, and pulled out a letter.

La carta parece ser correspondencia entre piratas. He hecho un escaneo de la carta, puedes ver lo que dice abajo.

The letter appears to be communication between pirates. I've scanned the letter, it is below.

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i92/redvirgin/Letter.gif

The letter reads:

Captain Canon Carlos

We have hidden your treasure in an unlikely place. The Pirates of the Carribean will travel to Antartica before they find our treasure. The map is rather complicated to understand. It would be easier if I explained it in person. Let's meet at the aquarium. We will have our treasure chest soon.

Sincerely

The Angry Parrot

El escaneo del mapa no funciono pero tengo el mapa. Juntos podremos averiguar donde exactamente esta la caja de tesoro antes que lleguen los piratas.

The treasure map didn't scan so well, but I have it. Together we'll find out where the treasure chest is before the pirates arrive.

Nos encontraremos cerca de la entrada, cerca del marlin. Alli nos pondremos en equipos para cubrir mas espacio. Nos llevara por todo el acuario el mapa.

We'll meet at the entrance near the Marlin (fish). There we'll form teams to cover more space. The treasure map will take us throughout most of the aquarium.
