Swift vs. C#

Did Apple just sherlock Xamarin and C# with their new type-safe-C#-like language?  The obvious answer is NO.  But there’s no denying the direction their heading with this language.  Come and see what all the fuss is about when I compare these 2 languages, and just remember we’re dealing with version 1 of swift, so it won’t be a very fair comparison (anyone remember C# 1?).

Thanks to those that attended. Forgot to give a summary of how I feel about Swift.

I'm very excited for the language and am fine with leaving Obj-C behind, although I have no doubts any of us doing iOS development will be knee-deep in Obj-C for at least another 2 years. But it's nice to come back to a language that strongly resembles C#. If you are a Xamarin dev you should get acquainted with Swift, it will be the future language that you'll reference in the Apple docs.
