***Saturday is sold out except for 8am! There is another race added on Sunday, if anyone wants to do it. I will be camping Saturday night, so if you get there early Sunday morning call me to say hello!***
Let's dress up as Hogwarts students and make our way through the woods on a zombie/inferi-infested 5K obstacle course (wearing ratty clothes from Good Will because it will be muddy)!!
As a Hufflepuff, my wish is to stay with the group rather than get a good time! Besides, I wouldn't win anyway, I'm a slow runner!
What's that, this sounds fun but you're not athletic/in shape/fond of running/etc??? Netiher am I!! My training over the last few months has been quite minimal but I did it....mainly because I walked most of the thing! BUT if you're curious but unsure, talk to me about it, and you can start training for a few months before you make your decision. When I started running earlier this year, I started by running for TWO minutes every OTHER day. It really wasn't that bad!
If camping and watching the course at various points sounds more like your thing, you can buy a spectator's ticket (I think that will also be an extra $20 for camping).
FROM THE WEBSITE (RunForYourLives.com):
$22 for the Apocalypse Pass from October 25, 2011 until January 17, 2012
$32 from January 18, 2012 until October 26, 2012
ALSO, there is a CAMPING PACKAGE option for $20 more per person. I didn't do it this year, but I think I want to next year, because after I finished, I:
-got some food
-chatted with some other racers
-listened to a band play
-watched the fireworks (yup!)
-waited in line for an hour for a shuttle back to the parking lot. The last thing I felt like doing was driving for 2 hours to get home!!
