Williamsburg Winery Holiday Event-followed by Grand Illumination -separate event

This is an annual festive event to kick off the Colonial Williamsburg Grand Illumination Sunday.  Arrive early and meet us by the back patio doors in the tasting room at 12:15 pm. My cell is  [masked] if you can't find us.

The event will be from noon to 4PM. Come and enjoy local restaurants as they prepare their signature dish which is matched with a Williamsburg Winery wine. Enjoy barrel cellar tours every hour, music and more.

If it operates as in years past, when you enter the winery, you will receive a tasting glass and food sampling ticket.  You will be able to choose to sample a signature dish from each of the local 6-8 restaurants that will be located around the room.  Each dish will be paired with a tasting of Williamsburg Winery wine.

There is usually also a large spread of cheeses, crackers, fruit, and more in the middle of the room that you can choose from. Hot cider and water are also provided.

Wine is sold by the glass and by the bottle.

This event WILL sell out. If you wish to attend, please go here to buy your ticket as soon as you are able.  Tickets are $18 which includes the food and wine samples. If any tickets are available at the door, they will be $20.  Non-drinkers may buy tickets for $12.

All tickets must be purchased on-line in advance using their on-line ordering system. No tickets will be mailed. Please bring a copy of your confirmation with you for admittance.

Very nice, first time I've attended this event. Nice introduction to local restaurants and good tour of the winery.

I really want to go, but I haven't done anything with this group and would be coming by myself. I hope that's cool.

Absolutely! Most of us come by ourselves. Look for me and say hello when you get there.

I have not posted the actual Grand Illumination as a Meetup event. It is so crowded, it is hard to do as a group activity.

Are you planning on taking the shuttle from there for the Grand Illumination?

    • Connie

I am not, and no one so far has said they are.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
