Paintball

During all-day play, adventurers avoid paint splatter as they climb over obstacles, hide inside bunkers, and claim territory inside towers, forts, or battleships spread across a spacious field.

There are 2 big fields-a speedball field and 20-acre wooded field with bunkers, forts, battleship and more.

$50 will get you all day field fee, all day air, paintball gun rental with mask and 500 paintballs. Pay on arrival. If you have a paintball gun and equipment, field fee only is $15.
Park is open until 4pm and is the biggest paintball park in the area.

Wear appropriate clothing for running around and getting dirty (paint washes out). You will warm up fast so don't overdress worrying about the sting of paint. Bring water and some snacks, and a change of clothes-if there is interest we can go to Buffalo Wild Wings afterwards to eat.

If you've never been, come out and try it, and don't be scared! If little kids can handle getting shot by the paintballs you can too

Meet in parking lot near entrance. Look for black Hummer H3-I will write HROA on the window with window chalk, we'll all go over to register, pay and rent equipment for those needing to, and get to shooting! Stay for as long a time or short a time as you want, but I plan on staying until at least 2:30pm, later depending on fast I'm shooting through paintballs.

Event will be canceled if at least 4 others don't RSVP by Dec. 7 , which would be the minimum needed to make our own team.

Everyone: Very sorry to have to do this on short notice, but due to the current weather situation and forecast I am postponing the Paintball event. It is currently raining as of 8:30am, and the weather.com channel is forecasting showers until noon, possibly later. Sorry for the inconvenience. The fields may still be open, but I think this will be a much more fun event in dry weather. The weather forecast hadn't called for rain, but surprise for us!. I will repost this event at a later day. Sorry again everyone, and I hope this message and the email I am sending now will find everyone before they leave!

Everyone may want to consider bringing some extra $$$ for extra paintballs in case they are having a blast and want more ammo. I am bringing extra $$$ because I tend to be trigger happy, so I am pretty sure I will want to buy extra (or get with someone to split an extra order of paintballs).

Yes, depending on the type of player you are, you may shoot a lot more or less paintballs than others. Some people lay on the trigger constantly, others try for one shot, one kill. See above comment about paint purchases. How much you use also depends on how fast you get shot out!!

I've always want to play some paint ball. Just never ended up in a spot to actually do it. My only question as of now would be.. Is it cheaper to buy paintballs (extra) Else where? Or is it about the same price here vs a big name store?

    December 5, 2012

    • Alan T.

It is necessary to buy the specific paint they sell for use on their fields. You cannot buy just any paint to bring on their playing fields. It's cheaper if people go into together to buy paint since the more you buy the cheaper it is. Check out their website for specific details on their paint requirements.

Are there rules? Like can I keep playing even if I get shot ?

    December 3, 2012

    • Alan T.

Peter, once you get shot, you're out for the game. Referees are on hand to oversee play, and the honor system is always good too. There are a few rules, mostly pertaining to safety, that the referees will go over at the field. Most of the rules dictate the wearing of safety equipment, and how you handle your paintball gun.

There will be multiple games with time limits, so it isn't a 'one and you are done for the day' situation.

Can you wear glasses under the mask? what does "all day air" mean?
How do you carry the 500 paint balls with out breaking them? guess you can keep buying more paint balls if you run out? Can you shoot anybody, like not in our group? How many people will be spread out in that kind of large area?

    December 3, 2012

    • Alan T.

You can wear glasses under the mask, all day air means you get unlimited CO2 refills for your paintball gun (CO2 canister is attached to your gun, and is what powers the gun to shoot paintballs), balls are carried in a "hopper", which is a platic container attached to the top of your gun. Extras can be placed in your bag, or in your car. You can buy as many balls as you want, 2,000 balls is $50 or 500 balls is $15. You shoot any member of the opposing team, which may or may not be people in our meetup group. On the speedball field, which is the inflatable obstacle field, teams are 3, 5, or 7 men, so max 14 on the field at once, or as little as 6. The woods accomodate much larger groups. See http://foxbrotherspai... for more info.

Peter - people with their own equipment will often have harnesses that contain plastic containers (about the size of a Nagalene bottles). Instead of buying that kind of stuff I am bringing a couple of nagalene bottles and wearing pants with cargo pockets so I can safely carry extra paintballs without crushing them.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
