Hello Everyone,

Here's an excellent opportunity to meet other HSPs at The NEWLIFE EXPO, America's largest mind, body, spirit expo. The event is taking place at the Hotel New Yorker (34th & 8th Ave), NYC. It's within walking distance of the train station.

The Expo has 150 exhibits and many interesting speakers. You can get more details at www.NEWLIFEEXPO.com. There's a food area with tables where we can have lunch and talk. We can meet in this area at 11:00 am.

Saturday, October 17th, EXPO hours are 10 am - 9 pm. General admission is $15.00 online and $20.00 at the door. There are many free lectures included. There is an extra charge for optional special events. You can take in as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

I'm taking the train (NE corridor line). I'm open to meeting at a centralized train station, so we can go together and chat. If interested, email me at cliff@TheHighlySensitivePerson.com and we can work out the details.

Here is a great opportunity to meet your fellow HSPs in a beautiful outdoor setting. Let's hope for a great weather day!

We can meet at Parking Lot F, near the bocce ball field. There is a huge field that we could put blankets and chairs on, and there are some trees for shade. It's a short walk to the bathroom, and near a pond and rose gardens.

You should bring lunch, portable chairs to sit in/blankets to lounge on, and munchies to share if you'd like. Plus whatever you want to drink (non alcoholic).

I've decided not to have a rain date. The alternate plan is to have the Meetup at The Somerset Diner, 1045 Easton Ave., Somerset, NJ. at 1:00 PM. It's close to Colonial Park and there is plenty of parking. I'll send a group email that morning in case of rain or extreme heat conditions.

I want to emphasize that you will be in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental atmosphere. You can stay as long as you'd like. Feel free to leave when you need to. No one will be offended.

We can resume our talk about The importance of relationships/ friendships for HSPs. I promise that we will stay on topic!

I hope we can get a great turnout! I'd like to have more HSPs come from NY & PA. Any thoughts about possible carpools? Put them on the message board. I'd be willing to pick up some people from the New Brunswick, NJ train station at noontime. Please email me if interested.

What is a teleconference?

It's a telephone conference call where everyone dials into a phone number at the same time using a regular phone. There is no charge for the conference line. The only cost you'll have is the charge for a long distance call. If you don't have unlimited long distance calling and opt to purchase a calling card, the card may cost 0.028 cents per minute (though some are even less). The teleconference phone number will be e-mailed to you when you RSVP. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions or engage in discussion.

It seems that socializing is a challenge for all of us. I would like you to email me specific questions that you have about this topic. Your name will be kept confidential. The goal is to get as many questions answered as possible. Please send your questions to cliff@TheHighlySensitivePerson.com.

This 1 1/2 hour teleconference on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, 8 PM (EST) will give you the opportunity to explore these questions. This call will be positive, upbeat, and make you more confident about yourself. It's a great way to vent your feelings to a positive and supportive group.
