Have you built an HTML5 application before?

No, websites only.

What programming languages do you know?

None, really. I'm interested in treating front-end code as if it were a programming language -- have a central file generator with variables and block structure. I'm putting in time and effort to master JavaScript and SCSS Sass CSS3 CSS as if they were programming languages. I took an introductory Python course, and have some PHP experience within Drupal CMS. I purchased Douglas Crockford's JavaScript: The Good Parts, and have Windows 7, Windows 8, MacBook Mavericks, Mac 10.6, iPhone and a Windows Development phone. Using online efficiency tools like Git and JSMin. Use the W3C validator and Lint sites.

What are you hoping to be able to do with HTML5?

I can do HTML Emails. I also make websites with HTML5, CSS3, and WAI-ARIA role tags. I'm using the W3C validator and I'm glad it's finally up to HTML5 and Mobile. The main thing is to make faster-running websites for all devices.
