Rush Limbaugh is like a Rip Van Winkle who fell asleep in the 50's and missed the Sexual Revolution and the Women's Liberation Movement. He and his ilk think that if a college woman needs birth control, she's a slut or a whore.

I will also acknowledge that I need to lighten up a bit as I continue to recover not only from Catholicism, but also from years of facilitating meetings and university teaching.

Should have paused after the Founding Fathers segment and had discussion at that point. While interesting and provocative, the abolitionist segment clouded the focus of the agenda. The Founding Fathers beliefs regarding religion didn't get discussed, which was supposed to be the emphasis of the meeting.

Yes. We need to get even better at discussions, perhaps by preparing a few questions ahead of time. I thought afterward I wanted to raise some questions about the Enlightenment idea of happiness. Happiness in This world, not Heaven, was a new idea then (as St Just said) and it's relevant today w the attacks on sexual pleasures. They are a natural part of happiness, even for women, wh Christian male fanatic, Catholic and Protestant, deny w a passion.
