Dear Friends and Colleagues,
You are cordially invited to attend an annual meeting of all the directors and/or representatives of the different humane societies, animal control departments, and rescue organizations for a three-hour long social and joint planning session. The purpose of this meeting is to familiarize ourselves with all of the different agencies in Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Charles, St. Tammany, St.Bernard, and St. John Parishes and learn more about the different services and programs provided by each agency. The other purposes of this meeting include:
- developing new partnerships and resource-sharing opportunities among groups
- crafting a 1-5 year plan for this region that will include increasing spay and neuter operations, adoptions, and ways to improve our code and law enforcement capabilities
If you can attend, please email me at the return address. If you have one, you may also wish to send me a draft of your group's 5-year plan, so that we can distribute them out at this session and incorporate them into a larger, regional plan.
