Injured Possum

Dear All,

Can any of you respond to this complaint that recently was called into our office:

There is a possum on the side of the road who appears to be stunned or injured.  I moved him to the curb, but it is still in danger of being run over.  He is across the street from Neyrow's Parking Lot, 3319 Bienville, near Jefferson Davis and N. Rendon.  Call came from[masked]-1394.

If you can respond to this call, kindly bring gloves and simply try and move it with a shovel (or grab him by the tail, if you know what you are doing) and move him to a safer area.  If you are an experienced animal wildlife handler, you could try and move him into a carrier and transport him to the nearest shelter (although they may not have the resources to save him!)

Call me, if you have any questions.
