Thanks for sharing this. I was born and raised in Seattle ... and had NO idea this sort of ridiculous and cruel "sport" was going right on under my nose! I'll definitely say something to the people involved. While I'm a big sports fan ... these animals had no choice whether to be involved or not. That's not right not to mention the outright cruelty involved. Thanks again for sharing!

Immediate action needed to help the donkeys!

We have less than one week to stop a cruel game of “Donkey Basketball” planned for January 18th at Anacortes Middle School in Anacortes, Washington.

See how two minutes of your time can help below!

During these chaotic games, gentle donkeys are shoved, kicked, yanked, or whipped by riders trying to score points in the name of “entertainment.”

These innocent donkeys are also subjected to deafening crowds, which is terrifying for them. With no escape, the donkeys cry out in fear and frustration, which is apparently part of the “fun."

This “game” must be stopped. We can’t help but be reminded of the brutal killing of Pasado the donkey just over 20 years ago at the hands of teenagers in the name of “fun." These adults should know better!

Please call and email the contacts below TODAY (there is no time to lose!):

Patrick Harrington, Principal
Anacortes Middle School

Rick Durfee, President
Anacortes Eagles #249

Thank you for helping Pasado’s continue our fight against animal cruelty.

Please consider making a donation today to help us continue to speak out for animals like these innocent donkeys.

For the animals,

Laura Henderson
Executive Director, Pasado's Safe Haven
