Animal Abuse Registry Legislation: Citizen Action Alert

From: Jeff
Sent on: Saturday, April 24, 2010 8:23 PM
Hello Everyone,

I have developed a ?very good working relationship with Representative Walker Hines and his staff, and they have asked us to appear at next Thursday's hearing before the Administration of Criminal Justice, where they will take up Bill 201, which is authored by Representative Walker. ?The bill creates an animal abusers registry, modeled after our state's sex crime's registry. ?It is a very positive and important bill, which we should all support. ?Please email the committee's members in support of House Bill 201. Their contact information appears below.

Dear Jeff: Great speaking with you a few minutes ago. Headed to JazzFest shortly!?
Below is the e-mail we've?been sending out to folks - it'd be great if you could send out a similar version to your contacts as well.?
Lastly, ?thank you for being able to attend the hearing and provide testimony on Thursday - we appreciate your time and support and look forward to seeing you on the 29th.
The Louisiana House of Representatives Criminal Justice Committee will consider House Bill 201, authored by Representative Walker Hines, creating a registry of persons convicted of certain crimes against animals on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 930AM in Committee Room 6.?
In order for this important measure to pass we will need support from a wide spectrum of organizations and individuals.
Please consider helping pass the measure in at least 1 of the following 3 ways:
1: Attend the hearing on April 29 at 930AM.
2: E-mail members on the Criminal Justice Committee. Click here for their contact information.
3: Forward this Citizen Action Alert to your friends who may also be interested.
Are you able to participate in either of those ways?
Thank you,
Office of State Rep. Walker Hines
